On September 7th, Nobel Medical Prize Winner, Professor Marshall from the University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia, led the delegation to pay a visit to the First Affiliated Hospital of GMU (FAHGMU). GMU President Liu Qian, Vice-president Ye Junming and all FAHGMU top leaders and staff, met the delegation.

Professor Marshall and his delegation firstly watched the Helicopter Emergency Rescue Drill, which was ongoing in FAHGMU, and then visited the Emergency Department and the Outpatient Hall of FAHGMU.

After that, the delegation communicated with colleagues in the Department of Gastroenterology of the FAHGMU. Prof. Huang Caibin, Director of the Department of Gastroenterology, warmly welcomed Professor Marshall on behalf of the Department of Gastroenterology. Dr. Liu Yao introduced the research achievements of the FAHGMU in the field of digestive medicine over past years, as well as the work and achievements in the research and application of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of digestive diseases.

Professor Marshall made a brilliant presentation on Helicobacter pylori (HP)-related research, especially on the research of bacterial resistance caused by the treatment of HP. At the same time, a discussion was held on how to standardize and precise the treatment of HP and the current status of research, development and application of vaccines.

Finally, Liu Qian sincerely hoped Professor Marshall to visit the FAHGMU once again. He hoped that Professor Marshall could carry out in-depth exchange and cooperation with the FAHGMU, further discuss the cooperation projects such as the research center for the Eradication of Helicobacter pylori with TCM, and look forward to Professor Marshall's visit and exchange with the FAHGMU again.
