Jonathan Leo Carries Out the Faculty Training in the Internationalization of Medical Education

    On November 10th, Jonathan Leo, the executive vice president of the DCOM Medical College of Lincoln Memorial University, was invited to visit GMU and conduct a 10-day faculty training in the internationalization of medical education.

    Li Gongjin, the Secretary of GMU Party Committee of CPC, met Dr. Leo’s delegation. Jonathan Leo, on behalf of Lincoln Memorial University, expressed great expectation for Li Gongjin's delegation to visit Lincoln Memorial University, highly praised the "3+1" learning exchange project proposed by the GMU, and briefly introduced the basic development of Lincoln Memorial University and the status of medical doctoral education system. Li Gongjin welcomed the arrival of the guests. He had a detailed understanding of the training system of Chinese and American medical students. The directors of the Division of Personnel and School of International Education attended the meeting.

    It is understood that Dr. Leo will carry out 12 training courses, focusing on the application and development of the teaching methods of PBL and TBL, the formulation of American medical students' post competency, the cultivation of students' critical thinking, the establishment of medical quality assurance and quality culture, and the training of medical students' communication skills, etc.
    Jonathan Leo is the executive vice president of the DCOM Medical College of Lincoln Memorial University, doctor of anatomy, professor of neuroanatomy, chairman of the Comprehensive Foundational Science Task Force of COMAT, member of AOA Commission on College Accreditation, member of eva luator for Medical Institutions for the State of North Carolina and member of COMLEX Standards Setting Committee.
