FAHGMU Enrolls in the NCNRDDT

Recently, the National Health Commission issued a Notice on the Establishment of a National Cooperative Network for Rare Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment (NCNRDDT). 324 hospitals throughout China have set up a collaborative network for rare diseases. The First Affiliated Hospital of GMU (FAHGMU) has been selected into the collaborative network.

It is known that the NCNRDDT is jointly set up by the National Health Commission to select hospitals with strong diagnostic and therapeutic abilities and many cases nationwide. The aim is to set up a rare disease diagnosis and treatment collaboration network by selecting a certain number of hospitals nationwide, establish a smooth and perfect collaboration mechanism, carry out relatively centralized diagnosis and treatment and two-way referral for patients with rare diseases, and give full play to excellent results. Quality medical resources play a leading role in improving the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment ability of rare diseases in China, and gradually achieve the goals of early detection, early diagnosis, treatment and management of rare diseases.

With the establishment of the national collaborative network of rare diseases diagnosis and treatment, under the unified deployment of the leading hospitals at the national and provincial levels, the relevant standards and management systems of bidirectional referral, expert patrol and remote consultation among collaborative network hospitals will be established and perfected, and the diagnosis and long-term management of rare patients will be done jointly with the aim to complete the whole process of screening, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of rare patients. At the same time, medical staff should actively carry out clinical diagnosis and treatment research and clinical trials of rare diseases, promote research projects related to rare diseases, and promote the transformation of research results and the application of appropriate technology.
