GMU Holds the Opening Ceremony for the First TSSGP

    On March 19, GMU held the Opening Ceremony for the First Teaching-Assistant Scholarship for Study-in-China Graduates’ Program (TSSGP). Leaders from School of International Education (SIE) and the Graduates' Department attended the opening ceremony. And representatives of tutors of graduates and all overseas graduates attended the meeting.

    Essissima Foe, a Cameroonian graduate, as a representative of overseas students, firstly expressed sincere thanks to the GMU for providing teaching-assistant scholarship. He said that the Batch 2018 overseas students would abide by laws and regulations, study hard, and make contributions to the medical cause after coming to China. Huang Cheng, the director of Division of Graduates, made an explanation of the program and put forward the requirements. The representatives of the tutors answered the academic questions of the overseas graduates. On behalf of President Liu Qian, the president of SIE Huang Dong, warmly welcomed the first overseas graduate students of teaching-assistant scholarship and introduced the development of GMU. He hoped that the overseas graduate students would cherish the opportunity, study hard, pay attention to innovation and practice, and build a bridge of friendship between their hometown and the Chinese people.
    Before the ceremony, the SIE gave a lecture on the implementation rules of scholarship, rules and regulations of postgraduate education and relevant laws and regulations of China. It is reported that the scholarship for overseas teaching assistant in GMU is based on international practice. Graduate students need to apply for full or half of the teaching assistantship, pay the tuition and accommodation fees through the work remuneration of teaching assistantship.
