Professor Yang Jian from Pennsylvania State University Delivers a Lecture in GMU

    On May 9, Professor Yang Jian from Pennsylvania State University was invited to give a lecture "The Frontier of Tissue Engineering Development" at GMU. GMU Vice-President Zhang Xiaokang, Peng Weijie and more than 200 teachers and students attended it.

    Based on his own research experience, Professor Yang Jian elaborated the research status, development trend and challenges of tissue engineering in depth, focusing on "Research Direction of Tissue Engineering", "Important Scientific Issues of Tissue Organ Construction in Vitro and in Vivo Repair and Regeneration", "Bottlenecks and Suggestions of Cross-disciplinary Cooperation Research". At the same time, the achievements of the research group in tissue engineering were demonstrated.
    After the lecture, Professor Peng Weijie and others accompanied Professor Yang to visit the scientific research center of GMU and held a discussion with doctors.


    Professor Yang Jian graduated from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002 with a PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Physics. He is currently a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Pennsylvania State University, USA. His Research fields include biomaterials, tissue engineering, targeted drug delivery and immunotherapy, medical devices and bio-imaging. He was elected to the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) in 2016 and National Academy of Inventors (NAI) in 2018.
