The GMU Campus Young Singers Competition in 2019 Ends with a Complete Success

On the evening of May 21, the Campus Young Singers Competition finals under the theme "Youth Heart towards the CPC, Achievements Building for New Era” ended in the Huangjin Campus. Teachers of the GMU Youth League Committee acted as judges of the competition. More than 400 students, including those from the Student Union, the Federation of Associations, the GMU Broadcasting Station, the GMU Volunteer Service Team, the School Newspaper Press Group and the student representatives, watched the competition.

A total of 124 students participated in the competition. After a month of preliminary and semi-finals, a total of 19 students entered the final. This year is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The GMU students gave a display to their love for the CPC with youth and their wishes for the motherland with songs.

The finals kicked off in Sunny Band’s "The Lightest Star in the Night Sky". The competition was divided into 3 rounds of singing. In the "Show Yourself" link, 10 players showed their voices one by one in the order of drawing lots. "Ideal", "You Are My Eye", "Dad" and so on, deduced to emit a different style and won the applause of the audience. In the second part of the "drawing lots" contest, the 6 players randomly drew numbers to determine the order and enter the next round of affectionate singing. Light and positive energy songs such as “I Want You”, “Exploring the Clear River”, “Pretty Love in a Big City” set off the show.

At the end of the final, each of the 3 players selected one of their best songs, and the judges’ score determined the final victory. Finally, Li Yizhong from Class 3 of Batch 2014 majoring in MBBS in the School of Basic Medicine Science (SBMS) won the championship. Chen Ziyao from Class 2 the second prize. Jiang Xuan from Class 5 of Batch 2017 the third prize.
