Zhang Zhaofeng Pays a Visit to GMU

    On December 19, Zhang Zhaofeng, director of Biotechnology and Medicine Department of Social Development Science and Technology Division of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Liu Qingmei, director of Social Development Department of Science and Technology Division of Jiangxi Province, visited GMU for inspection. Accompanied by Chen Haohua, deputy director of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Ji Zhuangzhou, deputy head of Ganxian District, and GMU Vice-President Peng Weijie, Zhang Zhaofeng and his delegation visited the Red Health History Museum and the Scientific Research Center.

    Director Zhang Zhaofeng held discussions with the scientific research backbones on scientific research, scientific and technological innovation, project application, etc. GMU President Liu Qian attended the symposium, and Vice-President Peng Weijie presided over the symposium. Professor Fan Xiaona, director of the Scientific Research and Industry Department, made a detailed report on the series of achievements of the research group on the impact of rare earth on the environment and human health in Gannan. Dr. Jiang Feng from School of Pharmacy reported the research and development of targeted innovative drugs with nucleic acid aptamers as tumor recognition molecules. Professor Wan Shaogui, head of the Molecular Pathology Center, reported the main platform construction and team construction of the molecular diagnosis team of GMU, and the team's research direction planning in the third generation of nanopore gene sequencing and tumor fluid biopsy. Liu Qian introduced the construction of the Key Laboratory of Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases of the Ministry of Education.

    Zhang Zhaofeng put forward suggestions after listening to the relevant reports. First, researches should focus on the needs of the field, local reported diseases, such as the correlation between rare earth and diseases. Second, researchers should effectively gather local industrial resources. Third, researchers should have certain academic accumulation to achieve technological breakthroughs. Fourth, departments concerned should supplement the relevant industrial chain and improve the scientific research system.
