GMU Wonthe Award in the National Finals of the 13th “Challenge Cup” Contest

      From October 13 to 17, hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, China Science and Technology Association, the Ministry of Education of China and National Student Federation, the National Finals of the 13th “Challenge Cup” Contest was held in Suzhou University. 1,135 works from 440 universities entered the finals, including 59 works from 14 universities in Hong Kong andMacao.


          After 2-day’s judge and defense, directed by Mr. Liu Bingjing from School of Pharmacology of GMU, Quality Criterion Building and Active Ingredients Measurement of Polyalthia Plagioneura, Combined Spicebush Root, Polyalthia Cerasoides & Pithecellobium Dulce, completed by Li Chao, Jiang Zhiwei and Liu Xing, won the third prize, which was the first time for GMU to win such a national award in the finals.


     Being held since 1989, “Challenge Cup” Contest, a national college student extracurricular science and technology works contest, was held every 2 years. It has developed into the largest and influential national college student science and technology innovation contest. Being launched since March 2013, this contest took “Challenge Innovation & Realize China Dream” as the theme. Around 2,000 universities held school-level competition and recommended about 20,000 works to the “Challenge Cup” official website.
     “Challenge Cup” Contest was the extracurricular activity to extensively carry out academic science and technology innovation and was a vital strong means to build innovation atmosphere. Under the direction of “Challenge Cup” Contest, School League Committee launched the school-level competition since the beginning of this year and attracted 60 teams to participate.
